There’s an upcoming drinks on tap meeting covering e-commerce, or what I have seen some people call “m-commerce”. Here are the details:

DrinksOnTap #8 – E-commerce edition

This edition of DrinksOnTap is going to be e-commerce themed. We want to see your bar-code scanning, e-commerce transacting, credit card swiping, shopping cart powered demos.

We’re still open to other demos, games, apps but if you have an e-commerce bend we want to hear from you.

As usual the event will be held at the Asgard Cambridge, in the back-room. We setup the event but remember it’s a cash bar. We hope you can make it.

When: February 8th 6:00pm-10:00pm

Where: Asgard Cambridge

Registration: http://drinksontap8.eventbrite.com/

Agenda

TBD

Geeky by Nature tickets are on sale, now.

Geeky by Nature - March 31st - April 1st 2011.png

What is GBN? It’s a conference for: “artists, designers, coders, and creative minds”.

It takes March 31st to April 1st in NYC at the SVA Theatre.

Here’s the summary for the organizers:

“What is Geeky by Nature all about? It’s about bringing together the worlds best artists, designers, coders, and creative minds to explore the possibilities that other disciplines can bring. Whether it’s computer based, film, print or inspirational, one thing is for sure, it will be unmissable!

GBN will be an amazing two days, exploring the best from art, code & design. Add a list of speakers who are second to none, a whole lot of creative inspiration, the backdrop of New York City and you have the ingredients for a really exciting two days!”

Due to a travel conflict, I may not be able to attend. Hopefully I can remedy that, and soon.

Mobile Emulators & Simulators: The Ultimate Guide
Posted in Flash Mobile on 01.20.11 17:15

I’ve worked with a number of emulators and simulators over the years, and this post has some of the ones you should know about. It’s very comprehensive.

Mobile Emulators & Simulators: The Ultimate Guide

I’m not going to go into the details of emulators vs. simulators here, but the goal is too save you testing time.

However, when it comes down to it … nothing will suffice for the real, physical, hardware … and that’s typically what’s best. In fact, I think “always test on physical devices” is on about 10 of my past presentations over the last 4 years. :)

I’m a big fan of ASUS hardware design, and they have some new Android tablets coming out. Here’s a peek.

“Transformable Devices” are going to be hot in 2011. :)
