I’m a big fan of ferryhalim’s work … I noticed he had a new game up recently … check it out at:

Name that font. identifont.com

Monday, January 24th, 2005

Ever want to find out what font is being used without decomping a swf?

I found this little online resource that does a decent job of identifting a typeface based on a series of questions … handy tool for printed material and graphics … although in the case of flash, it’s probably just quicker to decompile and take a peek …

“Worm Racing” game. Interesting use of the mousewheel support (FPL 7).

Saturday, January 15th, 2005

Cute little ditty I came across recently that uses the mousewheel support (FPL7) as the game controller. :)
Play “Worm Racing”.

Enjoy.

ActionScript a “Real Language” … Follow Up

Tuesday, January 4th, 2005

I just read Darron’s post … more evidence for the non-believers and nay-sayers. ;)
O’reilly recognizes it officially in their history poster! Ha! :)

2.) Also, recently, I found out my Alma Mater, Umass at Amherst has jumped on the wagon with a few courses in Flash & AS (and Director too) … ah, times have changed from my Pascal and C days. :)

My point is when you have nationally ranked CmpSci departments in Colleges and Universities like Umass and MIT utilizing it in graduate level classes … you know the language has made it: end of story.

Anderson Ranch - “Flash MX: Building Art Making Machines”

Monday, January 3rd, 2005

“2005 Anderson Ranch Arts Center” is what the piece of mail I received today said … but rather than chuck it in the trash like I normally do … this time, I actually decided to take a peek … as I perused through all the pottery and traditional “artsy” classes, I reminisced about an old roommate that once went there for a summer retreat (she did a whole lot of pottery) … then after flipping through some more pages … I came across this workshop:

Flash MX: Building Art Making Machines - it’s run by Joshua Davis of PrayStation.
