Saturday, October 29th, 2005

Another portable media device with Flash installed via BeeDigital and Flash Mobile Forum

“The PMP Viliv P1 is the first portable media player to come equipped with Macromedia Flash. With a slim 18mm design, users can enjoy the 4-inch wide display with 16:9 true colors and 480×272 resolution. Navigation is made easy with the almost identical iPodesque scroll wheel.

File support includes MPEG1, MPEG2, mp3, WMA, OGG, AC3 and AAC, also Macromedia Flash games”

I also found this URL for addition screenshots and some content (unfotunately most of it in Korean)

MMBUG: Flash and Data Visualization Presentation on Nov 9 @ MIT

    Thursday, October 27th, 2005

For those of you local to Boston who missed out on MAX … Doug is giving his Flash & Data Visualization presentation at MIT.

    Here’s the info:

    Who: Doug Marttila
    What: Flash and Data Visualization
When: Wednesday, November 9, 6:00 PM
Where: MIT, Building E51 (Tang Center), Room 151

More and more data is available and being visualized everyday. The innovations of Web 2.0 are changing how we think and interact with data. But Web 2.0 has focused primarily on technologies like Ajax and RSS. These technologies are great, but can be visually limiting. Fortunately, Flash can step in where Ajax leaves off, allowing you to create anything from simple bar charts to websites that function like desktop applications.

Flash Lite Content “Grid” UI … a proof of concept …

    Thursday, October 6th, 2005

Here’s a proof of concept for an idea I’ve had for a while … basically it’s a “grid based” UI for Flash Lite content … very simliar to some of the subway system scrollers that many Flash Lite folks have done …

To demo the concept, click the .swf below and then press 1-9 … you can also download (right click & save) and install on your phone.
