Nokia PC Suite 6.8 upgrade available
April 24th, 2006 by Scott JanousekIf you’re a Flash Lite developer with a newer version of PC Suite, it probably already alerted you that a new point release is available. This post is just an FYI.
Not too much that is new, but a couple features to mention (besides perhaps the maintenance fixes):
- Transfer music to your phone with upgraded Nokia Music Manager
- Faster music and video file conversions
… might be worth the upgrade … 6.7 is pretty solid in my opinion, so no need to rush into upgrading.

Hey Scott, good to see you at FITC.
I tried the new installer, and had lots of problem with it uninstalling the previous build. Even using the Nokia PC Suite Cleaner app doesn’t help. After wasting about an hour uninstalling/reinstalling, I gave up and reverted to the previous version (which works great).
Are you experiencing similar problem?

Dave, it was pretty smooth for me. So no. I run the latest WinXP, etc.
You don’t have multiple copies of PC Suite do you? Like for different devices? I remember that caused an issue way back when PC Suite was really bad … if you have a really old version I could see it having issues like that.
I’m not saying it’s perfect now … again, if you have an older device you work with PC suite, might be good to stick with what works.
This post was mostly for those with 6.7 users that might want to take advantage of the features.

I only have one PC Suite installed (6.7 r22). Apparently, I’m not alone with this problem:
