BumpTop Prototype: a physics based desktop UI

Friday, June 16th, 2006

All I can is wow.
This is perhaps one of the most intuitive desktop UI’s I’ve ever seen … reminds me of Yugop’s physics based business card app.
BumpTop is not a product (yet), strictly research. But still, this would be one sweet desktop UI if Microsoft or Apple picked it up (I think you can guess [...]

The First Tipping-Point for Mobile TV?

Thursday, June 15th, 2006

Some interesting commentary on the future of Mobile TV.
I wonder how mobitv is doing these days. On another note, the slingbox looks interesting …

I’ve seen ads, and I think David Yang has tried it first hand (on PPC?). Might be handy if you are a “road warrior” and like to keep up to speed [...]

FLED = [F]lash [L]ite [E]nabled [D]evice

Tuesday, June 13th, 2006

Ok. Don’t kill me, but here’s a follow up to the FLUI (Flash Lite User Interface). FLED. FLED = Flash Lite Enabled Device
Examples: “The Nokia 3250 is a FLED.”. Nope, the Sony PSP is not a FLED, it’s a custom Flash 6 port.
FLED. This can be any device that runs an implementation of Flash Lite [...]

And you thought the Nokia N series was expensive …

Sunday, June 11th, 2006

I saw this posted on craigslist (see below) …
I’ve heard of diamond encrusted phones, but I never thought anyone would have the gaul to try to sell these “pimped out” devices out in public.

The opposite of the Keith Peter’s tribulations

Thursday, June 8th, 2006

Have you been following?
If not, check out: Keith Peter’s tribulations with Best Buy.
This post is not about ripping Best Buy though. It’s about a better customer service. In fact, I had a complete opposite customer experience than KP, which I’d like to share.
After purchasing a Toshiba laptop a few weeks back from the [...]
