Arrived in Singapore - Day 1

Last night I arrived in Singapore.

Interestingly enough, the flight wasn’t all that brutal as British Airways was very accomodating, and there wasn’t a shortage of things to do on the plane when you have a power outlet, and headrest LCD with games, movies, etc.

I don’t have jet-lag yet (knock on wood), perhaps because of the way I rested on the plane before arriving.

It’s 6:40 am here, on the first day of the MAX AP conference in Singapore. I believe there are a few hundred people here today (perhaps I heard that wrong, but I think that is right) … just a fraction of MAX 2006 Las Vegas.

There is a some kind of shriek going on outside … I have no idea what kind of bird … back home, I look forward to roosters at 5:30 AM. Same here around in Singapore, @ 6:00 am - 6:30 am, this time of year … I bet it will be followed by the daily prayer to Mecca for the Muslim population here.

Anyways, there is 50% chance of rain each day this week (they don’t call it the rainy season for nothing), but other than that it is sunny and very warm. Good thing I brought a jacket and umbrella for the scatttered T’s.

I’ll post again soon, perhaps even with some pictures.

P.S.

The food thus far is great!

    Thanks guys.

It is nice here in Singapore. Hot and rainy, but it’s strange how less jungle and how much more shopping malls there are. It’s highly industrial here, and much like a “mini USA” stuck right in the middle of the APAC region.

[...] I want to say that I saw this device while I was browsing devices in Singapore last week … however, given that each shop had literally hundreds of different portable media players to choose from, I cannot be sure [...]
