iRiver “u20″ UCI/theme campaign (Flash Lite 2.1)

Tuesday, March 13th, 2007

iriveru20clix.png

I was just over at iRiver (Korea) and noticed they have some sort of campaign/contest going on for Flash Lite 2.1 content on the u20. I think it is UCI “themes” and games/apps, but I can only make out bits and pieces.

If you hadn’t heard the u20/Clix 2G supports not only Flash Lite games, but also features a reskinnable Flash Lite UI, which is known as User Create(d) Interface or UCI. Very cool.

Anyways, if you traverse into the content sections, you’ll see a lot of folks posting custom u20 (Clix 2 Generation) theme content.

Potential affects of Day Light savings in North America

Saturday, March 10th, 2007

Here is a breakdown of some of the possible affects of Day Light savings in North America on March 11, 2007.

Some of it is (portable) device related, hence the interest and the post. It’s like a mini Y2K, except this one might actually cause a few issues here and there.

i4u video with the Adobe MaD team @ GDC 2007

Saturday, March 10th, 2007

Here is a video with i4u talking with Adobe from GDC 2007 about Device Central (link via Bill Perry of Adobe), Adobe FlashCast, Adobe Flash Home, and a content example of an animated Flash Lite device state Screen Saver (using Adobe Device Central (link via Bill Perry of Adobe) for emulation).

The Samsung D900 “A Living World” UI was also mentioned. If you haven’t seen or read about it … it’s a Flash Lite user interface that can dynamically change and adapt to your location and current device properties (such as time of day, signal strength, battery, missed calls, etc).

Adobe User Research needs your input on mobile!

Saturday, March 10th, 2007

I saw this posted in a public place, so I figured it might want to get out to even more Flash Mobile developers … not to mention other Mobile professionals who may be interested in giving their feedback on what Adobe is doing in this space. If you’re reading this blog, that’s most likely you.

Read what’s below carefully if you wish to participate in this study.
