swf2go

A new .swf packaging and launching product called SWF2GO has been released by Orison Technologies. Here is the official press release.

According to it’s lead developer … “It’s a Flash Lite developers tool to create professional SIS Installer and SWF Launcher for All Editions of S60 Platform. It also supports All Versions of Adobe Flash Lite Players (1.1, 2.0, 2.1).”

Also, right now a 15% discount is in effect. You can order it here.

Some of the features of this first release include:

  · Professional SIS Installer and SWF Launcher toolkit
  · Supports versions 1.1, 2.0 and 2.1 of Adobe Flash Lite Player
  · Supports Symbian S60 platform editions 1st, 2nd & 3rd
  · Auto sign SIS installer with provided certificate
  · Supports developer certificates
  · Built-in Intelli-Launch Technology
  · Automatically detects and starts SWF with the latest on-device Flash Lite player
  · Shows an info-note with URL to download Flash Lite from adobe’s website, if Flash Lite is not detected on user’s cellphone
  · Allows to launch multiple Flash Lite applications simultaneously *
  · Flicker free SWF launch
  · Guaranteed launch with Flash Lite 1.1 (on S60 1st & 2nd Editions)
  · Command-Line compiler support
  · Supports build automation by XML project files
  · Quick compile SWF2Go Project file with right-click context menu

Since swf2sis doesn’t support 3rd Edition or some of the other features (yet), I think this is a no brainer for the time being (if you want to automate SIS creation, etc).
