I just got a post back (english) in regards to the Flash Lite 1.1 Syntax Reference Sheet I created ages ago … apparently from the Flash Mobile Group in Spain.
So, yes, for all others, if you are doing Flash Lite 1.1, this sheet might come in handy still, for those not acquainted with ActionScript “0.5″ (i.e. Flash 4 syntax).
On this same subject … I didn’t want to say anything before it was done, but I am almost finished working on a newer version of this older sheet which covers 2.x. It should be out shortly.
This is a preview of Flash Lite 1.1 Reference Sheet revisited

Designers might want to investigate this …
I noticed that a recent Focus Press title: “Animating with Flash 8: Creative Animation Techniques”, by Alex Michael, has some Flash Lite specific content in it (looks like only one short chapter, though).
You can get more info, including some reviews.
Although, I have not reviewed the Flash Lite content in this book, nor can recommend it personally, I found it significant enough to mention that there is yet another book out there that covers at least some Flash Lite … and from a design and animation perspective.

Aral’s SWX Presentation
Hi, I forgot to post about this, but Aral Balkan is giving a SWX presentation targeted for Flash Lite Developers right now (12 PM EST).
You can get more info at www.flashmobilegroup.org.
I’m sure it will be recorded for the Flash Mobile Group (it’s probably too late to attend … since you need to join the Boston Adobe Mobile and Device User Group to attend).
You can get more info about SWX at swxformat.org.

This has already been covered by Aral, Marco, Alessandro, and Leonardo, among others … but it’s always good to spread the word about community efforts.
Dmitri Arhipov started a new site called “Flash Stocks” which appears to be for posting publicly available free Flash Lite content such as wallpapers, screen savers, games, etc.
This initiative is in the same vein of the Adobe Flash Lite Exchange, which was started in 2005, however this is operated externally, and might be an additional spot for designers and developers to market some of their freely available Flash Lite portfolio.

Your average consumer does not know this (many of my readers probably do, however) … flickr.com (and I imagine many other online photo sharing services) have been stripping off camera model info from uploaded photos for quite some time.
As a consequence from this, there are now stats on mobile devices (in the context of digital photo taking/usage), in addition to traditional digital cameras.
Some Mobile camera usage statistics
For instance, take a look a the N95, and a few other Nokia devices, as of this month.

I caught this off Engadget … Samsung has put in a patent for a one piece mobile game joystick. Basically, the device itself acts as a joystick once “transformed”.
A few months back, I had posted about Zeemote™ (mobile “joystick”) (they have an external add-on device) … interesting, in it’s own right.
Personally, I like the one-piece idea for mobile games … but the price point of Zeemote™ will probably be a lot of cheaper, have a higher adoption rate, etc.
I want to say that the new Transformers movie had something to do with this idea from Samsung … but that may be pushing it a bit.

In addition to the Flash Lite 1.1 exam that has been around for a while, there is now a more recent Flash Lite 2 exam. This is part of the Adobe Flash Lite Developer Certification program.
You can get more info and register.

I will be giving an impromptu presentation on Flash Lite tomorrow night @ 6:00 PM for the VTFUG (Vermont Flash User Group) at Champlain College, in Burlington Vermont.
The core of the talk will focus around Adobe Creative Suite 3, Device Central, & mobile workflow. The current state of affairs with Flash Lite will also be discussed.
The presentation may be short … if this happens the remaining time will be for Q&A as well as some sort of “post-event festivity”, TBD.
Last year, I gave a similar presentation.
