I know this will seem pretty lame to real guitar players out there, but I did think this new DS Lite game, “Jam Sessions” slated for September 2007, looked like a unique and interesting application of gaming, music, mobile and social aspects.

Is the equivalent of a Japanese mobile Karaoke for the post MTV generation here in the US? Not sure …

However, it does appear to the closest chance I’ll have to actually being able to play guitar …. without: 1.) actually picking up a physical guitar, 2.) buying all the equipment, and 3.) paying for all those lessons (besides I’m was a drummer for years. Once a drummer, always a drummer at heart?) …

I suppose there’s always hope for me in Guitar Hero …

Actually, which reminds me of something I read recently in Mass High Tech … not sure on the status of Guitar Hero port for mobile (did I hear correctly, it was dropped?).

Wonder if there is a wii (which BTW, if you haven’t read about stock, here is recent news)<-> DS Lite connection with this game …

Apparently it will be out soon (Sept 2007).
