Today, I am a Forum Nokia Champion.
Look soon for some of my ongoing community activities to shift over at Forum Nokia, in addition to the Flash Lite blog’o index.
I want to let thank you Nokia for this gracious invite to the program, and I hope to help educate more people on Flash Lite (as well as other ‘platform goodness’).

Oh noes … Mobile devices really *are* taking over the world … check out the Toshiba’s 815T PB on Softbank.
Do these devices support Flash Lite that connect to Skynet via a loadVariables()?! Not sure!
In any regard, anyone know Sarah Connor’s address? Must get John Connor to safety!
Joking, of course …
These are supposedly called Ketai Sousakan, according to Engadget.
Yep, these bad boys transform just like in a Japanese movie, “Ketai Sousakan 7″ they are modelled after.
I wonder if you can custom configure the display faces. Would be a cool and fun feature!

There are new software/firmware updates for Chumby.
To get the updates, power cycle your unit(s) … or if you must go the USB stick route.
After update, this should bring you to SW: 1.4.0, FW: 533 (or another variant).
Not what the exact changes are to the Flash Lite implementation (FL “3.0.3″ is indicated), but since the update is OTA and updates work via P2P, update propogation will be quick … plus, Chumby’s officially are released to public today, so they will likely be pre-installed with this most recent version.

Bill Perry (Adobe MaD) updated his Flash Enabled Devices spreadsheet, recently. You can
download it here.
The break down is: Nokia (73), Sony Ericsson (63), Verizon Wireless (13), NTT DoCoMo (134), KDDI (101), and Softbank (48).
This also reflects some additional devices that were announced at Mobile World Congress 2008.
If you are already referencing this spreadsheet to get info on what handsets have Flash Lite preinstalled according to version and content type … now is the time to grab the new one.

Yesterday, I allocated some R&D time (what essentially amounts to some personal time on a Saturday) to attend a Google Code Day event on Android.

I had been following the initial SDK release since last year, but honestly, I haven’t really made any serious commitments to this very (let’s face it), emerging mobile platform.
Rather my time has been spent on other platforms that have some viable business models … like Flash Lite, and other arenas.
This is a preview of Android ‘Code Day’ with Google - My random thoughts …

FYI: Just got an email from momoboston.
There’s a iPhone SDK launch party at the Apple Store in the Cambridge Side Galleria Mall on March 24th.
Anyways, if you are in the area, might be cool to stop by … and no, I still don’t know for sure if the SDK includes any mention of Flash!
From all initial outwards appearances, this event is more about native application development on iPhone.
However, if I see mention of Flash, I’ll be sure to blog about it.
Here are the details:
