Mark posted about Adobe MAX 2008 and his thoughts on this years planned events. MAX 2008 is taking place this year in San Francisco, Milan, and Tokyo.
My top 10 wish list directed at Mobile (in no particular order):
• Another Mobile and Devices - BootCamp, please.
• Session(s) from the Mobile and Devices Engineering team
• Flash Home - is there a roadmap to get developers on board?
• Bring in more Mobile Partners to showcase on the floor! Not just OEM’s … but also aggregators, content providers and the like (with heavy floor discount for the smaller players)!
This is a preview of Adobe MAX 2008 - Call for Sessions (Mobile and Devices)

There is a fairly recent Flash Video article by Tom Green called “Going Small - Playing Video On a Cell Phone” over at community mx.
“The release of Flash Lite 3.0 suddenly opened up the world of portable video to Flash designers and developers. By “portable” we mean that video can now be streamed into your cell phone and played on demand …”
It’s free and you can download this short article here.
P.S.
Forgive Tom for using the term: “Cell Phone” because he is located in Canada.

Alessandro posted about Flash Lite 3.1 recently … which he got from Sybmian Freak.
Not that this is surprising … as if you remember back to Flash Lite 2.0, they (Adobe), put out a point release (Flash Lite 2.1) right around the same time period last year.
Anyways, Flash Lite 3.1 now includes (among perhaps some other possible non-disclosed features):
- Better browsability than 3.0
- Support for h.264 codec with Flash Video
- Flash 9 support playback (assuming you publish to ActionScript 2 and not ActionScript 3)
From the originating post, you can probably guess that S60 devices supporting the upcoming Touch enabled 5th edition devices (if not via also from possible firmware updates on existing 3rd edition devices).

Via Flex Ria and The Flash platform blog: a feature request has been entered for Flex Builder to export Flash for (mobile) specific devices and for Flex Builder to integrate with Device Central.
…Talking with 2 Flex team guys, they said to us that if you’d like some new features in Flex 4, only make a feature request to Adobe jira system.
So I said: “One of the most cool feature that you could implement in next version of Flex Builder, it could be to compile Flash Lite projects and maybe Flex Builder could interact with Device Central.”
This is a preview of Vote for mobile specific compilations in the next version of Flex Builder!

Not Flash Lite related, but many people I know within the community use Skype, so I am posting about this here!
Previously there was Windows Mobile and N800/n810 versions of Skype …
Recently they’ve been hard at work. They appear to be rolling out Skype for many more handset models, including Nokia, Morotola, Samsung, and Sony Ericsson. Sweet!
Download the BETA mobile clients at:

The upcoming Mobile Monday event here in Boston is about mobile marketing and advertising.
Here are some details:
Mobile advertising: Is it real?
According to the Wall Street Journal, mobile marketers spent $421 million in the US in 2006 (eMarketer). According to the Economist, the global number was $871 million in 2007 (Informa).
Who is really spending that kind of money on mobile marketing? Does this mean that mainstream advertisers have embraced the mobile opportunity?
Since Boston is a leader in the mobile advertising space, we are privileged to include some of the most experienced hands in the industry to tell it like it really is.
This is a preview of Mobile Monday Boston (May 5th) - Mobile Marketing and Advertising
