Extending your brand to the Chumby platform (via Flash Lite Widgets)
May 8th, 2008 by Scott JanousekHere is an excellent example of extending a company’s brand into new mobile and embedded devices (which incidentally run Flash).
In this case, we are talking about the Chumby (an embedded open source internet connected device for delivering content).
Here is more about Dating DNA:
“Today, more and more people are using free social networking sites like MySpace, Facebook, Craigslist, and others to meet new people for dating. Utilizing these sites is free and provides a more natural way of meeting new people than traditional dating sites of the past, such as Match.com and eHarmony.
Dating DNA is a free service designed specifically to work with all Social Networking sites, providing one-click compatibility scoring through the use of unique “Dating DNA Numbers.” Meet others anywhere on the Internet OR off line, and with just one click, see how compatible you are.”
Along with the desktop website service, iphone version, this Chumby widget provides an easy, glanceable, “passive way” to interact with your associated Dating DNA account that you setup on the website.
If you or your company has an existing brand or new idea, and would like to extend it to the world of Chumby, let me know! I am a facilitator of “chumby-ness”. Contact me, if you are interesting in this new platform for delivery of your product, service or idea.
There is a seemingly good reason why Chumby received a few million in investment, recently. The device was huge potential in hidden areas (which people have not thought of).
I’m excited to know what they (Chumby) are working on next … perhaps it may even be a mobile/portable device!? or perhaps a large screen device?
Hmmm … Chumby needs a “friend”, or sibling, etc? ![]()
