Friday, October 24th, 2008

Mike Chambers (or, “Mesh” if you prefer) asks “Are you still using AS1 and AS2?” on his blog.
Guess it’s time for all Flash Mobile and Device designers and developers to chime in on his blog.

ActionScript Conference in Singapore

Saturday, October 18th, 2008

A while back, the new Singapore based: “ActionScript Conference” caught my eye. Looks like it’s taking place right about now.
Pretty neat idea. Who knows, perhaps it may even go on to be a worldwide event!?
Anyways, I noticed, Stefan Wessel’s giving a introductory type session on working with Flash on mobile and devices. Pretty cool. I [...]

Adobe has just made the (Flash) Adobe Mobile and Devices CookBook BETA available (a joint O’reilly and Adobe initiative).
This on-going community driven initiative, like other O’reilly cookbooks, are basically coding “recipes”, tips and tricks, and best practices when developing for mobile and devices with Flash.
Some of us have seeded it with some content, but it [...]

Flash on the Beach 2008 Mobile Guide (coming soon)

Sunday, September 7th, 2008

I am working on a very simple (Flash Lite) Mobile Conference Guide for Flash on the Beach 2008 coming this Sept 28th, 2008 in Brighton, UK.
Here is an early screenshot of the guide:

It is turning out heavy on graphics and experience, rather than functionality, so it’ll be very similar to the FlexCamp Boston Guide [...]

Flash Lite 3.1 now available to OEMs

Sunday, April 27th, 2008

Alessandro posted about Flash Lite 3.1 recently … which he got from Sybmian Freak.
Not that this is surprising … as if you remember back to Flash Lite 2.0, they (Adobe), put out a point release (Flash Lite 2.1) right around the same time period last year.
Anyways, Flash Lite 3.1 now includes (among perhaps some [...]

Forum Nokia: Flash Lite Tips and Tricks article

Monday, April 21st, 2008

Forum Nokia has an article on Flash Lite tips and tricks article for S60 devices (about 4 pages long, or perhaps 40 tips).
Most (if not all) of the tips can be applied across platforms (with a bit of common sense). A lot of these most of us have seen before and are practicing.
