Adobe has plans for Flash on the iPhone

Wednesday, March 19th, 2008

According to cnet (and other wildfire postings across the blog-o-sphere), Adobe is planning on doing their own Flash player on iPhone (through installed apps courtesy of the iPhone SDK).
Here is what Adobe CEO Shantanu Narayen had to say (in part):
“Well, you really believe that Flash is synonymous with the Internet, and frankly, anybody who wants [...]

So … what *is* your ideal Chumby?

Saturday, March 15th, 2008

Engaget had a post about what you would change in the chumby.
Both existing owners and new comers are posting comments there on their gripes, ideas, “wish-listing”, and other commentary on the chumby.
Also, if you did not know, there is also a fair amount of traffic on the community forums Chumby has setup, which lots [...]

Read private data stored on any Cell Phone SIM card

Tuesday, March 4th, 2008

This is nothing new (a SIM card reader/writer) … but this specific device is getting a bit of coverage, today.
I caught this a while back, but I wanted to wait a bit until I saw more coverage of it (to help substantiate some of it’s feature claims … besides the typical SIM backup).
Cell Phone Spy [...]

New Chumby (major) updates available

Monday, February 25th, 2008

There are new software/firmware updates for Chumby.
To get the updates, power cycle your unit(s) … or if you must go the USB stick route.
After update, this should bring you to SW: 1.4.0, FW: 533 (or another variant).
Not what the exact changes are to the Flash Lite implementation (FL “3.0.3″ is indicated), but since [...]

LG does ‘Watch Phones’ with Flash Lite User Interfaces

Tuesday, February 19th, 2008

I caught this a while back when it was debut at CES 2008, and was thinking it might be Flash Lite … but I wasn’t 100% sure.
Well, recently, I caught a photo from Matt S. (Adobe) (MWC 2008) which indicated they were. Not that I believe everything I read … but even if it’s [...]

buglabs.net - The ‘Lego’ of Gadgets

Sunday, February 17th, 2008

Bug Labs has an interesting concept.
buglabs.net is selling a kit which allows the average tech savvy consumer (but not necessarily an all out hardware “hacker”) the ability to create/experiment with snap friendly type hardware components.
“BUG makes it fun and easy to build any gadget you can imagine. Build familiar things like digital cameras and GPS [...]

Saturday, February 16th, 2008

I was just reading that the LG Prada sold more than 700,000 units last year (according to ME Magazine).
In case you weren’t aware, this is one of many devices sporting Flash Lite user interfaces in the market today.
Given the device’s simplicity … one of it’s key selling points … an intuitive touchscreen based mobile [...]

Adobe’s Booth at Mobile World Congress 2008

Wednesday, February 13th, 2008

I caught this off some Mobile World Congress 2008 coverage.
“Engaging Mobile Experiences - Delivered Across Devices”, “Mobile Author - Design, Preview, and Test Engaging Mobile Content”, “flash on.” are all visible
The only ones I can make out is Kathy C. (Adobe MaD) … and perhaps Paul Lamonby (?). Of course, if you pictured feel free [...]
