% of Flash Lite devices in US and Western Europe

Monday, April 21st, 2008

Bill posted a breakdown of the Flash Lite devices in US and Western Europe, recently.

This information is pulled from mmetrics and is broken up by total Flash Lite devices in 6 regions (US, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, UK), as well as number of device models and number of addressable devices by platform (Nokia S60, Nokia Series 40, Sony Ericsson and BREW).

3 generations of Flash Lite Mobile Guides for FITC.ca

Monday, April 21st, 2008

Recently, via Mark Doherty’s blog, I had noticed that Thomas Joos had created a mobile guide for the ongoing fitc.ca 2008 conference in Toronto this year (and also for FITC Amsterdam, previously this year).

I thought it was interesting to note the progression of mobile guides that have been created for the FITC conference (Toronto) over the past years, including:

2005 - (Flash Lite 1.1 - Creator: Scott Janousek, Target Device: Nokia 6620 or equivalent S60 device)

2007 - (Flash Lite 2.x - Creator: James Eberhardt, Target Device: Nokia 6680 or equivalent S60 device)

A Flash Lite User Group in 2nd Life?

Flash Lite User Group in 2nd Life

OK, this is tough to explain, but basically Max Antinori has created a 2nd Life Flash Lite User Group. Why? Because it’s trendy and new? Yes. but I’d like to think that this might potentially be much more if it could utilized in a few ways (which I’ll talk about later in this post).

2nd Life was a tangent topic of both discussion and amusement at one of our past Flash Mobile user group meetings, and although I had heard about it before, I had never joined in this “other world”.

Adobe AIR application on UMPC mobile device @ CES 2008

Tuesday, January 8th, 2008

Tony had a recent post about a mobile based AIR application that was created for Intel for the CES Show.

The touchscreen based app is called “Teknision Media Junction” and split into a music and video applications.

If you don’t have UMPC handy (who buys these things?!), you can download the AIR frameworks, and run off your respective desktop.

Looks cool. Get the download off his blog.

Yay. Tony’s mobile project revealed! Nice. ;)
