Yep, another viral campaign for Nokia … this puts those cutesy Apple iPhone commercials with the “baby music” to much shame.

216 Million Flash Lite-Enabled Handsets by 2010?

Wednesday, May 24th, 2006

ASH caught this recent press release:

“STRATEGY ANALYTICS Predicts Rapid Cellphone Flash-Lite(TM) Integration; From 38 Million Flash Lite-Enabled Handsets in 2005 to 216 Million by 2010.

And yes, Strategy Analytics appears to be a legit source.

Who’ll be buying all these devices? Let’s hope Y-Gen! … and perhaps some X-Gen gadgeteers like myself.

Speaking of which, with all these Flash devices lately, I’m seriously considering getting a bandoliero to hold them all.

“Battery Hack” to power a DoCoMo phone without a cable

Wednesday, April 5th, 2006

A while back I got a legacy NTT DoCoMo N505i (one of the first DoCoMo i-mode phones to support FL 1.0). Well, somebody was selling it for $20 (I bet it sure cost a pretty penny back in 2003). Definitely not anything remotely like the new FOMA lineup.

The problem was it came without a charger, and no accesories. There isn’t a store online that sells this sort of stuff (that I was able to find in English). And what’s more, the battery was depleted and was pretty much non-standard … or so I thought …

“boo hoo for us”?

Saturday, August 11th, 2007

boohooforyou.com

Bryan Rieger caught this recently: boohooforyou.com … boo hoo for us? Rebuttal!Ya-hoo for us! … well, it’s a start, anyways … and so is the N95. In a few years, who knows. We do have cool stuff now.

However, I also have the sudden urge to get on a plane to Tokyo … :)

“Hold the phone, Flash is coming” - Flash Lite article

Hold the phone, Flash is coming

I caught this article recently: “Hold the phone, Flash is coming”. I think it is an article out of Canada … since it quotes Dave Yang and James Eberhardt. It is a good read for a non-techie to pick up some info on Flash Lite. Read it.

“Mystic” Flash Lite 1.1 Screen Saver

Thursday, August 2nd, 2007

This is the result of a dream and a couple hours of pixel pushing and coding.

Tools and technologies used: Photoshop CS3, Flash CS3, Device Central, Flash Lite 1.1 (don’t sigh, it’s best since the 1.1 penetration rate is high and 1.1 is fine for simple content like this).

No download is available yet here, however distribution is coming soon. Stay tuned.

“Operation Surprise”

Thursday, February 1st, 2007

I will be launching something this month (fingers crossed) … currently codenamed: “Operation Surprise” (catchy, eh?).

Everyone likes surprises, right? … except the bad kind … but, this one is good, I promise.

Clue #1:

Stay tuned this month for further unveiling. I’ll post follow up clues as the date gets closer …

P.S. Yes, I’ve disabled comments (for now). :)
