I picked up a copy of the Mobile Python book written by Jurgen Scheible and Ville Tuulos recently. Both are experts on Python on S60. Although I had previously done some programming with the platform, I thought it might be interesting to read through their book from Wiley and see what it had to offer. It's part of the Symbian Series books that Wiley puts out. I'll probably post a review here on the blog, or on amazon.com once I am done with it. Looks to be less than 300 pages, consisting of some sample applications and narrative written around them (essentially what we normally call "cookbooks"). From what I read so far, it looks very cool! If you're interested in the book, here are the details: Mobile Python : "Rapid Prototyping of Applications on the Mobile Platform" Publisher: Wiley Page Count: 348 pages Language: English ISBN: 0470515058

I just received word that I have been selected as a Forum Nokia Champion! This is very cool news, and I will be sharing a lot of my thoughts and expertise about Flash Lite; as well as other mobile technologies, products and services. A big thank you to Nokia for allowing me to participate in their community!

One particular Flash Lite 1.1 mobile game to be on the watch for in early 2008, is my new title called: "Bill and James's" Hot Sauce ThrowDown. Based loosely on some events that may or may not have transpired at last year's Adobe MAX 2007 conference (Chicago), this is a funny game designed and developed by yours truly. Crave it, now ... look for it soon. Disclaimer: The events depicted in this game are (mostly) fictitious. Any similarity to any person living or dead is merely coincidental."

I've started a new personal site as of 2008. I'm using a really minimalistic look and feel coupled with some javascript to provide a bit of interactivity. Stay tuned as I add more and fine tune this new site over the course of the next few weeks. -sj
