Project Name: 360 Degree Business Intelligence

Client: Business Objects while at Cramer Productions
Year: 2001
Timeline: 3-4 Weeks
Role: Technical Software Architect
Project Type: Digital Kiosk Development

From October 21-24, 2001 Business Objects held their annual corporate 360 Degree Business Intelligence conference. I lead with technical efforts within a team of four, to help deliver a custom kiosk system for thousands of attendees. The system included a frontend and a backend.

The front end of kiosk was written in Visual Basic and provided a simple to use interface where attendees were able to get their session schedule info, take surveys, check their email, browse the web and other activities.

I was responsible for designing, developing, and deploying the backend of the kiosk system. This included monitoring of attendee traffic, as well as leveraging a custom in-house survey builder tool to create and report on important conference data.

The data collected via the kiosk system from this 1st conference gave Business Objects important insight into their 2002 event. As a true measure of success, in 2002, we were contacted again to provide the same services because of the great job we did in 2001 at providing all Business Object's needs.
